African Awesome

Hi viewers!
I haven't posted in a while because of both finals and making new things!! I just happened to get my hands on some amazing hand made African beads before I left school. I ran into one of my professors that I had freshman year of college and she had so many beads from all her trips to Africa! Some of the beads were actually used as currency within various villages and were buried for safe keeping. After being dug up, cleaned and re-fired the beads were re sold.

I loved that the beads were from an interesting place with a great story and now I'm adding to their journey because these creations will be on sale at the jewelry show I am having this Saturday. I am donating 15% of the proceeds from my show to the MS Walk. MS has had quite an impact on my family; my Aunt Nancy passed away from the disease when I was very young and I decided that instead of donating part of my show money to a school event or organization that I wanted to donate to a cause that is close to me.
